Biography

Jen Hiscock leads the division responsible for electricity, transportation, batteries and buildings innovation for NRCan’s Office of Energy R&D. The shared focus across these domains enables smart and resilient communities, electrification pathways and the systems design and integration across these energy sectors. Aligning efforts to support Canada’s to achieve a net-zero emissions by 2050 energy future, the Division manages federal programs and initiatives to advance innovation through technical and market readiness. This includes investments in federal R&D, and innovation projects led by industry, utilities, academia, and civil society. 

With engineering and business degrees, Jen has a background studying the dynamics of innovation surrounding the technology and policy development of smart grid and distributed energy resources.
