Director

Mohamed Kamaludeen is a Director of Energy Storage Validation at the U.S. Department of Energy. His group Lead the nation’s energy storage effort by validating and bringing Technologies to Market (T2M). This includes designing, executing, and evaluating a research, development, and demonstration portfolio that accelerates commercial adoption of next-generation grid storage technologies. Mohamed is known for developing novel clean energy projects at scale through strong private sector led, government enabled innovation and collaboration framework.

Mohamed has over 15 years of experience in the Electric Utility Industry, which span the breadth and depth of the electric system planning process. This includes Engineering and Design, Forecasting, Sub-Station Planning and Energy Storage. He is a change management leader with a record of building energy storage businesses within the regulated business (Con Edison of New York). With a portfolio exceeding 120MW of Utility Owned and Third-Party projects, he positioned Con Edison to advance energy storage development and meet NYS CLCPA objectives.

Mohamed holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from The City University of New York and currently an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University (NYC). He is also an IEEE senior member.
